Notifier, a maker of fire alarm technology, has unveiled Onyx Firstvision, a navigational tool for firefighters.
The tool displays information on the origin and spread of a fire on a PC-based touchscreen to allow it to be quickly located. The display also summarises building floorplans and the location of fire alarm devices, water supplies, evacuation and access routes, fire barriers, gas and power shut-offs and chemical and structural hazards. Notifier claims this information is displayed in an easy-to-interpret, interactive, graphical manner and that the tool can be used without any special training.
