Amo Kalsi, the director at RRP in charge of the project, describes it as “an iridescent creature from the abyss that is still alive even under severe conditions”. The Maantis comprises suspended sections in three sizes – 850mm, 1150mm and 1450mm long – for T5 fluorescent lamps and LEDs, which can be integrated with spotlights for accent lighting. The suspended lighting system comprises a metallic extruded aluminium loadbearing frame, which can be used as a channel for electric cables and enables up to five units to be mechanically and electrically connected.
