More than £11bn worth of work has been dished out

At least £11.5bn of work across nearly 30 contracts has already been handed to construction firms.

According to tables published to HS2’s website, 27 construction and railway signalling contracts have already been handed to firms.

Among the firms to already have been handed work on the project are contractors including Balfour Beatty, Mace, Vinci and Skanska, as well as consultants Lendlease, Mott MacDonald and CH2M.
