“The perception of GET is one of a distributor,” said chief executive Lance Joseph, explaining the reasons behind the rebranding. “We believe we are an innovator. We are the industry’s best kept secret.”
The company has come a long way since its early days as a cable supplier. It has long since branched out into wiring accessories, ventilation and, more recently, lighting.
Turnover at year end August 2003 stood at £73 million. This has grown from £43 million in 1999. “We are taking market share through quality, availability and price positioning,” said Gerry Barnett, group commercial director. GET expects further growth from the specification market.
