Delegates from 192 countries will attend the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference for two weeks from 7 December

The summit is aimed at securing a successor to the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012. It is hoped the conference will lead to international legal commitment to carbon emission reductions. US President Barack Obama has said the US and EU must redouble their efforts to reach an agreement, but UN secretary-general Ban Ki-Moon has said he believes it unlikely a solid agreement will be reached.
