The United Arab Emirates has signed up as a member of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed al Nahyan, the UAE foreign minister, speaking at the agency’s founding conference in Bonn recently, said: “Renewable energy is crucial to the world’s future prosperity. The UAE’s contribution to IRENA will be to leverage our deep energy expertise and existing commitment to the sector.”
