A 22-year-old man has been jailed for 12 months after admitting causing actual bodily harm to one of Group 4’s court security officers, writes Roger Bushby.
Leicester Crown Court heard how Tarlock Shergill, formerly resident in the city’s Victoria Park Road area, struggled with Group 4 Total Security’s officer William Marvin, who was trying to escort Shergill from Leicester Magistrates Court last October.

According to defending barrister Felicity Gerry, Shergill – who happened to be drunk at the time – struggled with the officer and “unintentionally” caused him to fall down a flight of stairs.

Marvin suffered trauma and a badly bruised back as a result of the unprovoked attack.
