We suggest using nails as tees and forming fairways and bunkers with excavated earth and sand.

It looks like Kier’s Rob John (pictured) had just that idea when he started work on the new Marriott Hotel and Country Club, at Lingfield Park Racecourse in Surrey.

The development, due to open in 2010, will include an 18-hole golf course, created using earth excavated from the building site. Check out that swing!
