A £350,000 CCTV system at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey, part of the Safer Runnymede project, was opened by DS Jacqui Hames (pictured seated) of Crimewatch fame.

The 48-camera system uses Pentax 10-140mm lenses and 12-240mm zoom lenses. The cameras are monitored from a purpose-built control room at St Peter’s during normal hours with pictures being switched to Safer Runnymede’s control room in Addlestone during the evening and night.

The system also gives access to Surrey police from their own control room.
