The forthcoming HVCA conference will broach problems within the industry including the lack of young entrants and the fight to abolish cash retentions.
Summit 2002, at London's Le Meridien Hotel on 8 October, will include a workshop programme as well as presentations from Zara Lamont, chief executive of the Confederation of Construction Clients; Stuart Lyon, chair of the National Training Forum; and Baroness Margaret Sharp, House of Lords Liberal Democrat spokesperson on education. Clients will be represented by Kevin Thomas, director of r&d for GlaxoSmithKline, while Gerald Slack, director of Taylor Woodrow, will represent main contractors.
