The ECA has been named as the richest construction industry body in the latest Certification Office for Trade Union and Employer Associations annual report. It had total funds of £45 million and gross assets worth £66 million at the 2003/04 year end. The 2122 member firms brought in a subscription income of £2.9 million, bringing the total income to £12.8 million.

The ECA was second only to the National Farmers’ Union in terms of total funds and gross assets. The Heating and Ventilating Contractors’ Association was the second richest construction employer body. Its 1398 members paid £2.8 million in subscriptions and it ended the year with funds of £5 million and gross assets worth £9.7 million.
