As you cruise along the car-free zone that is the M6 toll road, smiling smugly at the lack of congestion, you’ll never be left without traffic information. Contractor H Woodbine has built and installed lighting termination boxes and consumer units on the 36 sign gantries, housing 221 lighting units, over the motorway.
Fibox EK TH range enclosures have been used on the installation. These will enable contractors to turn off the lights separately during maintenance. Each Fibox enclosure forms the basis of a termination box that houses automatic cut-out devices and double-pole mcbs, connected to every light on the gantry.

Fibox EK UH enclosures were used to house electronics and electrical components needed to control each of the gantry’s lighting functions. A photocell light sensor for automatically controlling switching is fitted on the enclosure and the housing connected via armoured cable through weatherproof glands.
