Valuable running costs are being reduced by up to 22% in Merseyside's Clatterbridge Hospital thanks to a recent lighting conversion scheme.
With hospital funds proving ever more limited, the cost-effective use of those available is vitally important.

A recent lighting conversion programme at Wirral Hospitals NHS Trust Clatterbridge Hospital has been carried out with this and the introduction of the Climate Change Levy in mind.

Parkersell (Lighting & Electrical) Services completed the £95 000 project, which involved the installation of high frequency ballasts to the existing light fittings in the hospital's main ward block.

The introduction of the ballasts is expected to save 22% of energy costs over 12 months, the scheme having an estimated payack period of five years. In addition to the cost savings, visitors and staff have found that the scheme has given the added benefit of improved lighting levels.
