The circulation has also been increased to 30,000 to cover a broader cross-section of housing professionals from both local authorities and housing associations.
Denise Chevin, who has taken over as editor, said she wanted the magazine to become essential reading in the sector.
"We will be adding new sections such as legal pages, 'how to' advice, new columnists as well as an expanded news section and extra finance pages.
"We will provide something of interest to everyone each week."
Chevin previously worked as executive editor on Building magazine, where she was responsible for a major redesign of the magazine which led to its winning the prestigious PPA Business Magazine of the Year award last month.
Housing Today is now a joint venture by Building's publisher, the Builder Group, and the National Housing Federation.
