National Timber Systems part of business that collapsed last November
Newport-based Premier Forest Products has bought National Timber Systems (NTS) out of administration, rescuing 160 jobs,
The deal, announced just before Christmas, followed the collapse of National Timber Systems’ parent National Timber Group in November.
National Timber Systems supplies national and regional housebuilders, as well as the construction and modular sectors, with a range of engineered timber products and services.

Terry Edgell, co-founder and chief executive of Premier Forest Products, said: “We see National Timber Systems as an excellent fit for Premier Forest. [It] broadens our engineered timber solutions for customers across the UK.”
Under the deal, Premier Forest has bought NTS operations in Bristol, Newcastle and Catterick, North Yorkshire, and follows the purchase of the National Timber Group’s Arnold Laver sites in Manchester and Reading from the administrators.
Premier Forest was set up in 1993 and in its last set of results, for the year to April 2024, had a turnover of £97m and posted a pre-tax profit of £2.7m.
