Work has started on the construction of Riverside House, a low-energy speculative office building, as part of the second phase of Newburn Riverside Industry Park in Newcastle. The building has been designed to be more energy efficient than the Quadrant building (pictured), which was completed earlier this year as part of the first phase of the scheme. Quadrant was one of the first offices in north-east England to achieve an "excellent" rating under the BREEAM environmental assessment method. The client is UK Land Estates, architect is FaulknerBrowns, structural and services engineer is Arup and QS is Gleeds.
