First image released of ride at theme park on Aldar Properties' £39m Yas Island development

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi has released the first image its roller coaster racing car. The attraction, on Aldar Properties’ £39bn Yas Island development, will feature two competing roller coaster carriages which will zoom along twisting parallel tracks in a race to the finish line. Each vehicle is a replica of a Ferrari F430 Spider. The theme park will have 20 attractions, including two 1,050m racing tracks, on which riders will experience multiple overtaking manoeuvres and speeds ranging from 70km/h to 95km/h. Ferrari World’s architect is Benoy and the contractor is Belgium's Besix, which has formed a joint venture with Aldar to work on the project, due for final completion sometime this year.
