Design phase expected to last four years

Aecom is set to design an upgrade to the Royal Courts of Justice in Belfast.

The consultant has been appointed by the Northern Ireland Court and Tribunal Service to provide design and contract management services.

In partnership with the Vision 2030 Estate Modernisation Team, Aecom’s Northern Ireland-based team has been tasked with designing a sustainable solution for M&E infrastructure within the building, as well as carrying out some internal reconfiguration.

The consultant has previously undertaken work on a number of building projects for HM Court & Tribunals Service in England and Wales and also developed its Courts and Tribunals Design Guide.

The design phase is expected to take four years, with extensive stakeholder engagement required.
