Daikin has introduced the Altherma Flex Type air-to-water heat pump, which it says is suitable for larger domestic dwellings, apartment buildings and commercial properties.
The system extracts heat from air and the company claim it can recover 3kW of heat for each 1kW of electricity. The heat pump can supply water with temperatures up to 80ºC and is suitable for use with existing wet heating systems. The indoor units can be used to supply heat to individual buildings or grouped together in a plant room to supply a centralised heating system.
