Amec is spending about £1m on the production and roll-out of its new logo, which was launched on Monday.

The new image includes a turquoise touchstone meant to denote “a standard by which something is judged or recognised”.

As of Monday, Agra, the Canadian project manager brought by Amec for £200m in February, changed its name to Amec Inc. Morse Diesel, Amec’s US construction management business, will become Amec Morse Diesel. Amec chief executive Peter Mason said he wanted Morse Diesel to move away from its traditional volume markets. “I would rather see Morse Diesel doing about £500m turnover on 3% margins than its current level of about £1bn turnover on 0.5%,” he said.
