Dresden station reopened this week after a £94m refurbishment designed by Foster and Partners and Buro Happold.

A translucent fabric roof has been used on the structure’s original cast-iron arches. Deutsche Bahn was client and construction manager, with Schmitt Stumpf Frühauf & Partner as structural engineer and cost consultant, Schmidt Reuter and Zibell Willner & Partners as services engineers and AYH Homola and Kaiser Baucontroll as project managers.
