Costain, Halcrow and Colas JV will manage motorways for five years
Aone+, a joint venture between Costain, Halcrow and Colas, has won a £158m contract for motorway management from the Highways Agency.
The contract, which is for a five year duration, covers the day-to-day management of motorways and strategic roads in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and parts of Lancashire.
Work is due to commence this September.
Andrew Wyllie, Costain chief executive, said: “In the Highways sector, we have an excellent relationship with the Highways Agency, we are one of the nation's leading road constructors and we have now gained our first significant position in highways maintenance operations.”
