Gloucestershire-based architect Douglas Gunn has been found guilty of professional misconduct. Gunn was brought before the Architects Registration Board’s professional conduct committee on 11 September on six charges of unacceptable professional conduct. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges, but was found guilty of four of them, including failure to answer client complaints, for which Gunn was fined £500. He was not, however, found guilty of failure to answer matters raised by ARB.

The case was brought after the investigation of a complaint by a client, Mrs Anne Coldwell, who had hired the architect to carry out renovation works on a housing block, which were funded by a local authority grant.

The failure to set up a client account is serious
