Confirmation made with filing at Companies House
Former National Infrastructure Commission Sir John Armitt has been formally appointed a director at Tilbury Douglas.
Filings at Companies House today show the 79-year-old has been made a director of Tilbury Douglas Holdings.
Armitt, who was also boss of Costain, Railtrack and chair of the Olympic Delivery Authority, was appointed to Tilbury Douglas in January 2023 when the firm was known as TD Bidco, having bought the Tilbury Douglas business from previous owner Interserve.
A Tilbury Douglas spokesperson said: “Sir John Armitt has been providing valuable insight as a director in the Group since 2023. We are pleased that we will further benefit from his experience and knowledge in Tilbury Douglas Construction Limited and Tilbury Douglas Holdings Limited.”
Meanwhile, Tilbury Douglas said Matt Gill has stepped down as chief financial officer for personal reasons. He has been replaced on an interim basis by former Vistry director Martin Harrison.
In its last set of results for the year to 21 December 2024, Tilbury Douglas improved turnover by 7% to £542m and profit by 30% to £16.6m.
