New school first in town for 50 years

Atkins has been given planning to build the first brand new school in a Berkshire market town for 50 years.

Work on the 1,500 place secondary school at Wokingham is due to be start this summer and be completed in three phases with the hulk of work finished by September 2017.

It is being built on a former garrison site and will be the first step of a plan to build 2,000 homes in the town.

It will also include timber-clad learning barns which will be available for community use as well.
