Avison Young has brought in a former Gardiner & Theobald director to head up its fledgling data centres business.
Oliver Squires started last month at the firm after more than eight years at G&T and will lead Avison Young’s data centre business across the UK and Europe.
Avison Young said: “His arrival at Avison Young marks a strengthening of the firm’s data centre capabilities, bringing leadership and technical expertise to support clients in navigating complex challenges, and helping to deliver new, innovative solutions to the market.

“This strategic new hire underscores Avison Young’s commitment to expanding its data centre advisory capabilities and supporting clients through the sector.”
Squires will report to Steve Mason, the managing director of Avison Young’s £30m building and project consultancy arm. He said: “As a global real estate advisor, it’s vital that we remain at the forefront of this evolving landscape.”
According to industry website, TechUK, the data centre sector is expected to contribute an additional £44bn to the UK economy by 2035.
