A former industrial site in Bury is to undergo a £3.8m transformation into a park and cycling area

The land, known as Waterdale and Drinkwater Park in Prestwich, had been home to a bleach and dye factory and a chemical tip. It will get 13.7km of foot and cycle paths and could eventually be home to a mountain bike course. The money will fund the Forestry Commission to manage the site. The site will be part of a larger stretch of community woodland across Salford, Manchester and Bury.
