Architect Zaha Hadid has unveiled this design for a 12-storey building at the Edifici University campus in Barcelona.
The metal-clad development, which will be sited on the city's waterfront, will contain offices, an exhibition hall, auditorium, retail space and car parking. The spiral movement creates a series of public spaces and courtyards under the cantilevers. The scheme has two clients: the university and the nearby Forum development. Adams Kara Taylor is structural engineer and Max Fordham is M&E engineer. The project is due to be completed in 2008.
