Aberdeenshire scheme being carried out for Scottish and Southern
Balfour Beatty has won a £325m deal from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks to build an electricity transmission hub in Aberdeenshire.
The firm will carry out the earthworks and civil infrastructure, including five platforms to support the two substations and three converter stations, as well as an operations base and associated facilities.

Scottish and Southern said the Netherton Hub will strengthen the UK’s national grid and enable renewable energy from northern Scotland to be transmitted to demand centres nationwide.
Balfour said at peak 800 people will be employed on the job.
