Work on building will finish summer 2022

Housing association Home Group has appointed Bam to build its new head office in the middle of Newcastle.

The £360m turnover firm, which is currently based elsewhere in the city and also has offices in London and Edinburgh, expects to move 700 of its 2,600 staff into the six-storey building in the St James’ area by summer 2022.

The 70,000 sq ft building (pictured) is being developed by Ask Real Estate which is also working on the nearby £260m Gateshead Arena due to be built by Sir Robert McAlpine.

Bam is set to start work on the deal, thought to be worth around £25m, this autumn. Architect on the six floor scheme is local practice Ryder.
