Mowlem Asset Services will provide property services to 450 Barclay buildings in five-year contract.

Mowlem Asset Services (MAS) has been appointed by Barclays, the UK bank, to provide property services at 450 of its corporate buildings.

MAS is expected to start work for Barclays in the second half of 2006 and the contract will run for up to five years.

It covers about 7m ft2, including its 31-storey headquarters at London's Canary Wharf.

In a second appointment, Barlcays has extended a contract with Atkins Asset Management, which provides services across its 200-strong retail branch network.

Jon Couret, director of Barclays Facilities Management, said: "These contracts enable a new level of collaboration between business and suppliers."
