Barton Willmore secures planning permit for mixed-use regeneration scheme in Deptford

Planner Barton Willmore has secured permission for this mixed-use regeneration scheme by the river Thames in Deptford.

Twigg Brown was architect on the scheme.

The scheme will comprise around 300 apartments and commercial space. Proposals also include the provision of design workshop space for local artists.

One of the two existing industrial buildings, Payne’s Wharf, is grade II listed.

The scheme forms part of a wider regeneration of the area. Ecology, flooding and contamination issues have been taken into consideration and resulted in the provision of reed beds on the riverside and green/brown roofs for nesting birds.
