Architect one of four big firms to be appointed to ongoing work framework

Houses of Parliament

BDP, Purcell, Pick Everard and Capita have been appointed to the £43m framework for work on the Parliamentary estate.

Seven tenders were received, all from UK-based firms.

The four-year framework is for multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering design services involving “on-going planned and reactive works to the buildings within the estate include building refurbishment, new build and maintenance projects”.

The weighting for the Ojeu-procured contract was 50:50 price and quality.

Nearly a year ago BDP beat Foster & Partners, HOK and Allies & Morrison to land the £4bn pound contract to refurbish the Palace of Westminster. BDP also has the lead design role on the £500m revamp of MPs’ offices in Westminster, known as the Northern Estate Programme.
