Mark Lawrence goes after nearly 41 years at firm
The boss of M&E contractor T Clarke has left the firm with immediate effect, the company said today.
The firm, which was bought by gas supplier Regent two years ago in a £90m deal, said: “T Clarke has announced the appointment of Clive Carr as the company’s new chief executive officer with immediate effect, replacing Mark Lawrence who has left the company after a 40-year career.”
Carr, who has been at the business 17 years after joining from Bouygues, had been managing director of the firm’s built environment business.

Lawrence joined the contractor in November 1985 and was made chief executive in 2010, overseeing its transition from a listed business to private ownership in 2024.
News of Lawrence’s departure was revealed as the firm said it posted an improved set of results for its latest financial year.
T Clarke said its accounts, which have yet to appear at Companies House, will show turnover for the year to March was down 5% to £646m but operating profit was at a record £19m from £16m last time. The firm said its order book stood at more than £1bn.
