Bovis Homes has announced that it is planning to cut another 160 jobs.

If all the posts are axed, the housebuilder would employ 370 staff. This would mean that the firm had made 60% of its staff redundant compared with the previous year, when it had a headcount of 930. In a trading statement last week Bovis said the number of private homes sold in 2008 dropped by almost half, from 2,293 to 1,223. The average price fell 12%, from £206,000 to £181,100.
