The University of Bradford’s “The Green” student accommodation has won salutations this year’s BREEAM awards, snaring the multi-residential category in the accolades.

Judges awarded innovation credits for the development’s provision of real-time energy-use and water-use displays to every student flat.

The Green’s buildings are constructed with sustainably-sourced pre-fabricated open panel timber wall frames. Mechanical heat recovery ventilation units circulate fresh, filtered air with an 80% recovery of existing heat from the building.

The £40m development has been given a BREEAM rating of 95.05%.
