Framework deals with Fulcrum and National Grid bolsters order book

Carillion has won a £75m framework contracts with Fulcrum and been selected as preferred bidder for a £375m pylon contract by the National Grid.

The five-year Fulcrum framework will see Carillion provide gas services worth up to £70m across much of Britain.

Carillion will deliver overline transimssion services for the National Grid in a joint venture with Eltel Networks. The framework, worth up to £375m over five years, will commence in April 2012.

In a statement to the stock exchange Carillion chief executive, John McDonough, said: “We are delighted to have been selected to deliver these key services for Fulcrum and National Grid that further underpin our strong order book and pipeline.

“The contract for Fulcrum enhances Carillion’s position as one of the largest providers of gas connection services in the UK and our selection as the preferred bidder to deliver overhead line services for the National Grid underlines the strength of Carillion’s offering as a leader in this market sector.”
