Carillion has launched a claims insurance business to manage domestic buildings cover on behalf of Norwich Union.

Asprea, which is expecting a turnover of £360m during its first three years, will employ about 400 people across six regional centres. Three of these (Kent, Sheffield and Manchester) have been established, while offices in Cardiff, Peterborough and Livingston, West Lothian, will be operational by August.

Each centre will employ personal advisers and claim surveyors, who will visit homes to assess damage and specify repairs required.

Simon Hopkinson, Asprea’s managing director, said the company aimed to recruit about 150 staff.
