Wolverhampton construction firm signs PPP deal with Renfrewshire council.

A joint venture between Carillion, Amey and Bank of Scotland Corporate has won a £150m contract to build 10 new schools on the outskirts of Glasgow. Work is due to be completed in December 2007, and will provide state-of-the-art facilities for 6000 nursery, primary and secondary school pupils in Paisley, Linwood and Johnstone.

Commenting on the project, Carillion's chief executive John McDonough said: "This win adds to the considerable success we have already achieved in the education sector over the past year. This is an increasingly important growth sector for Carillion and we expect further opportunities to bid for PPP and non-PPP projects under the government's £25bn Building Schools for the Future programme."
