A landmark environmental sculpture designed by Ackroyd & Harvey has been switched on at Hammerson and Land Securities’ £500m Cabot Circus development in Bristol.

The 20m high illuminated tower is powered by solar panels on its exterior and a 4m wind turbine at its summit. The 1 million ft² Cabot Circus, which opened in September, was built by Sir Robert McAlpine to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating, and managed to recycle 85% of its waste.
