Galliford Try and Morrison Construction joint venture wins £4m infrastructure contract

The opening civils package on the £380m Bath Western Riverside regeneration scheme has been awarded to a Galliford Try and Morrison Construction joint venture.

The works are connected with public infrastructure improvements for phase 1 of a huge new urban quarter on the edge of the city.

Contractors will carry out highways improvements, strengthen river walls and refurbish the existing bridge in a package of works worth around £4m.

Developer Crest Nicholson recently secured planning permission for the 18ha scheme, which will include 2,000 houses.

Buro Happold is the engineer for the project and Davis Langdon is project QS.
