Clear intentions: Foster and Partners has unveiled its masterplan for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, USA. At the heart of the scheme is a glass structure running the full length of the site behind the main building. The firm says the masterplan would reinstate the clarity of the original scheme, which was devised for the museum by architect Guy Lovell in 1907. The first phase, including an east wing, restaurant and educational facilities, is due to be completed in five years.
