Contractor confirms its on-going commitment to business in Britain

Cleveland Bridge has denied rumours that it is to pull out of the UK. The contracting company, which is involved in an on-going legal dispute with Multiplex, the main contractor at the new Wembley stadium, has released a statement confirming its intention to ensure that the company remains one of Britain’s major engineering-led contracting companies. It said: “Cleveland Bridge will continue to have a UK steel fabrication site at its core.”

The company is investing in new facilities in Saudi Arabia, and in China via a joint venture partnership. Its engineering centre, based in Darlington, will, the statement said, “be the technology centre for all the Group’s activities around the world.”
