Connaught outbids Epic Reconstruction to take control of Bote's maintenance business.

Connaught announced this afternoon that it has acquired the maintenance arm of Botes for £3.25m. The social housing specialist will take on Botes’ contract maintenance business assets.

When Botes Construction went into administration last week, Epic Reconstruction, a shareholder in the company, bought the company’s other arm, Botes Maintenance. But due to a clause under the Insolvency Act, it had to allow eight days to let other companies bid for the company to ensure that the process was fair. As Connaught came in with a higher bid, Epic have no choice but to give Botes Maintenance up.

Around 200 people are expected to transfer with the business assets.

Mark Tincknell, chairman of Connaught said: “This acquisition complements our activities extremely well by significantly strengthening our reactive maintenance operations in London and the South East. We welcome the employees and customers of the business to Connaught and look forward to working together with them in the future.”
