Australian Rohan O’Grady to start next month at SCS

Costain has brought in a new boss of its joint venture business working on HS2.

Australian Rohan O’Grady has joined as managing director its SCS joint venture – the team which also includes Strabag and Skanska – working on the London tunnels section of the railway.

He arrives next month from CPB Contractors, the construction and infrastructure arm of Australian-based CIMIC Group, after four years while he was also worked for one of Australia’s biggest builders Leighton Contractors.

Rohan O’Grady starts at Costain next month

O’Grady will report into Jonathan Willcock, Costain’s managing director for its transportation business who said: “Rohan will be an excellent addition to Costain and is perfectly placed to lead the fantastic team working as part of the SCS joint venture.”

Costain was recently appointed to build RSHP’s transformation of South Kensington tube station.

Work to improve step-free access at the grade II-listed station is set to start this autumn with the scheme also including a new eastbound platform for the Circle and District lines and a restoration of the site’s historic features.
