Contractor Costain is grouping its asset management, building and engineering operations at its headquarters in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
The restructuring will result in the closure of its office in Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire. The group’s office in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, will also be closed and its operations moved to Costain’s base in Birmingham. About 20 staff will be affected but the group has not yet announced further details about staff relocation or closure dates.

Chief executive Stuart Doughty said the moves would lead to improved communications and controls and give Costain a stronger base in Maidenhead.

Doughty is centralising the group’s safety, training, legal and public relations services in Maidenhead.
