Road connecting motorway with Agratas job to take five years to build
Costain has won a scheme to build a new junction linking the M5 motorway with a giant car battery plant Sir Robert McAlpine is building in Somerset.
The civils specialist said its deal is worth around £100m over five years and has been awarded through the Regional Delivery Partnership framework.
Called 22A, the junction will be built between Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater and will allow access to and from the £4bn factory being developed by Tata subisidiary Agratas. McAlpine said around 800 workers will be on the job by April.

Costain said its role on the junction will be delivery integration partner and main works contractor with the scheme eventually handed over to operator National Highways. WSP is also on the job as designer.
Costain, which yesterday said 2025 turnover will be just over £1bn, will release its full-year results on 10 March.
