John Denham, the communities minister, has confirmed that he will address Building’s Thames Gateway Forum this November

The forum provides commercial, networking and learning opportunities for the public and private sector organisations that will deliver Europe’s largest regeneration project.

Also set to take the floor are Richard Brown, Eurostar’s chief executive, and Paul Chapman, High Speed 1’s managing director. These two senior figures from the rail sector will join a panel looking at the role of the Gateway in linking the UK to the rest of the world, as the debate surrounding air travel and high-speed rail heats up.

Other sessions at the forum, which takes place on 3 and 4 November at London’s O2 centre, include a look at sustainability initiatives in the region and the best time to invest. Delegates will also have the chance to join guided visits of key sites, including the Olympic park and Greenwich Peninsula.
