£800m redevelopment will also include resignalling and on-going Thameslink improvements

Network Rail has unveiled plans for the redevelopment of London Bridge station, drawn up by Grimshaw Architects.

The overhaul will see the station’s battered metal façades replaced with steel and glass canopies, designed to complement the neighbouring Shard skyscraper.

The £800m redevelopment will also include resignalling and on-going Thameslink improvements.

Network Rail said it will look to appoint contractors by the end of this year with work set to begin after the Olympics.
