Hub appointed for mixed-use regeneration of town centre site

Developer Hub has been appointed to oversee a mixed-use scheme in Maidenhead which will be the western terminus for the Crossrail line.

The Berkshire scheme is Hub’s first outside the capital – the firm is working on the Old Vinyl Factory development in west London as well as turning the site of Croydon council’s former headquarters into new homes – and has planning permission for up to 225 new homes, 34,100 sq m of offices, and 4,700 sq m of retail, restaurant and bar space.

Called the Landing, the project is being developed with landowner, investment firm Smedvig Capital.

Smedvig was given planning two years ago for the development with Studio Egret West acting as masterplanner and lead architect on the scheme. Allies & Morrison is also carrying out work at the development.
